Orienteering 1:18:00 [3] 9.0 mi (8:40 / mi)

Sutton Park orienteering event. Steady cruise around the Black course - decided I wanted to enjoy the orienteering and not run too hard following yesterday's effort. Good fun, but I was certainly a bit rusty. Nice weather and a good course - but not as good as Clare's.

Long run for the Youth Hostel in Milton Keynes. Mainly stayed to the canal and tow paths but also ventured into Cambell park on the way back. Legs and body felt ok but a little tired from the week's activities (and the beer the night before). Staying at 7 min mile pace was not an effort but it was also not as easy as I had hoped. In conclusion it was a good run out.

Running tempo 45:00 [4] 8.0 mi (5:37 / mi)

Lunch time tempo session. Having ummed and ahhed decided to commit to the marathon again this year. This was my first relevant session. 8 miles at marathon pace (5.37). Ran out to and around Meadowhall and then back and round Kelham island. Legs tired after a tough 10 days of training. Running over 3 x this distance is going to be tough!

Treacherous run to work. Black ice tastic. Didn't really enjoy myself, it was all about survival today. Managed to stay on my feet but had a few near wipeouts (Rob 1 Gravity 0). Looked like Sheffield had been invaded by zombies - everyone was shuffling around looking at their feet.

Having thoroughly checked out the paths I did some drills next to the astro turf on at S10.

Gym. Same old.

Running 1:05:00 intensity: (15:00 @2) + (40:00 @3) + (10:00 @4) 8.0 mi (8:07 / mi)

Run to gym and then 45 minutes on the treadmill - on a hilly setting - and then home. Slight dusting of snow made the traction better on the way down to Stannington road.

Run to see Kim before lunch. Back stiff as were hip flexors - no surprises there.

Running 1:15:00 intensity: (30:00 @2) + (45:00 @4) 10.0 mi (7:30 / mi)

Run to Weston park and then on to HH interval session. 15 x 2 minutes with 1 minute recovery. Took it in turn to lead the loops and zig zagged around the park in pretty slushy conditions. Felt pretty good tonight but left achilles was sore.
