Running 40:00 [2] 5.8 mi (6:54 / mi)

Easy run out up loxley with Pete, Owen and Gareth. Nice and easy.

Running race 28:00 [5] 5.4 mi (5:11 / mi)

Road relays - a bit bittersweet. Ran a minute faster than I ever have before (but it was 4 years ago) but felt that I should have been a bit faster (a minute down on Andy T). Course was undulating throughout but conditions were good.

Solid overall team performance (20th) and a top 4 for the girls (wow).

Running warm up/down 40:00 [2] 5.0 mi (8:00 / mi)

Easy warm up and down - warm down with the Candys.

Running 35:00 [3] 5.0 mi (7:00 / mi)

Run to work - nothing to report.

Thursday Apr 16, 2009 #

Running 1:40:00 [3] 13.5 mi (7:24 / mi)

Run to HHs then up to Wharncliffe and back with Jase, OJ and Dickie Wren. Good to go out for a group run - first time in a while. Enjoyable despite the drizzle. Contemplated the DW tapering technique involving Red Bull and Birds but maybe not this marathon.

Running 42:00 [2] 6.0 mi (7:00 / mi)

Run to track and back

Running 22:30 intensity: (10:00 @2) + (2:30 @4) + (10:00 @5) 3.0 mi (7:30 / mi)

4 x 400m jogging the bends and striding the straights, then 4 x 800m at 2.27 pace with 100m slow jog / walk recovery (about 50sec). Felt ok but a bit sluggish.

Tuesday Apr 14, 2009 #

Running 18:00 [2] 2.5 mi (7:12 / mi)

Run home via the gym for some stretching - bumped into Paul Faulkner who has a crocked leg.

Orienteering 30:00 [5] 4.0 mi (7:30 / mi)

JK relay. I ran fourth leg and was really chuffed that as a team we finished 3rd. Everyone ran to (or above) form and three solid results ensured a podium finish. Personally I was scappy at 1 and 3 but then got my act together for the rest of the course (briefly losing 3rd to Dan Halliday).

Really enjoyed it (despite the bus queues) and was relieved to finish in one piece!

Running 30:00 [2] 2.5 mi (12:00 / mi)

Lots of warming up and down.
