Running race 32:10 [5] 10.0 km (3:13 / km)

Birchwood 10k Race. Pretty flat course (bit undulating at the end) with a good field. Started off a bit too fast 15.45 (for 5k), but was hoping to run sub 32:00. In the end settled for just over 32 minutes, but in retrospect, having had a pretty hard week I was satisfied.

Almost missed the start because I was listening to the track cycling on the radio - inspiring stuff.

Easy run in the evening to loosen off my legs.

Run at lunch time. 3 x 15 minutes at around marathon pace - 5.40 (with 1 minute between reps). Ran out from Wicker towards Meadowhall, then looped back and did a couple of laps around Kelham Island. HR around 150 - 155 and managed to keep on pace, but it was certainly not easy by the end.

Managed to run most of it on the roads but had to pop up into the pavement quite a lot.

Hilly run home - out through the parks, over Crimicar lane then down Riveln valley.

Very easy run home, checking out some checkpoints from the Shaff Score O (setting work an orienteering challenge tomorrow lunchtime). Everything was in order - thanks OJ.

Body felt drained.

From work to home and then up to Damflask. Did 8 steady and then for the rest of the run did 1.5 miles faster with 0.7 steady.
