Orienteering race 2:24:13 [5] 18.1 km (7:58 / km) +420m 7:08 / km

WOC Trials Long

Started off poorly again, with mistakes at the 1st and 4th control. Had a bit of time to relax after this, with a steep climb and run along the track to 6. Lost at least 2 minutes on 9, and probably close to a minute on 10. Got caught by Muzz just before 11, but was a bit suprised he didn't catch me earlier. Added Schepisi to the train until the climb up to 16, where he dropped off. Lost at least another 90 seconds at 19, being unsure of which errosion gully I was in. Tried to keep up with Simon on the way to 23, but only lasted about 1km. Missed 25 by about 30 seconds, and lost the lottery at 26, losing about 2 minutes. Was totally spent after this, and just pottered home.

Pretty happy with the run, but quite annoyed with the mistakes at 9 and 10, especially after misreading the rocky ground above 9 as a track.

Orienteering race 21:42 [3] 3.0 km (7:14 / km)

WOC Trial Sprint

Very slow start, and not moving particularly quickly anywhere on the course. A number of sub-optimal route choices, but fewer mistakes than I would normally expect to make in a race like this.

Orienteering race 47:12 [4] 6.4 km (7:22 / km) +110m 6:47 / km

WOC Trials Middle

Was feeling a bit more energetic after the morning race, but lost time on number 1 and 2. Drifted around a bit on the way to 10, and had to go a long way down the hill, never being quite sure where I was. Really stuffed up 18. Dissapointing race, as physically I was running quite well, but any good leg I ran was more than offset by mistakes.

Nice run. Almost seemed warm out.
