Backcountry skiing (Hi 5/100eight) 2:30:00 [2] 12.5 km (12:00 / km) +725m 9:18 / km
Touring at MacPherson with Courtney, Stuart and my dad. We were trying to take advantage of one last day of cold weather and hopefully good snow conditions lower down. Didn't quite make it as far as I had planned though as my dad got a bit tired and was worried about having energy for the way down. It was his first time out and the uptrack was fairly technical. Didn't get quite the bang for the buck in terms of effort vs reward as the first 400m at Macpherson are always wasted on nordic trails, the skid road or thick forest. Still a good outing trying a new route across to the bottom of the womb and checking out the skiers left gully there that is on my list to ski from the top. The ski out was particularly bad as the previous tracks went too far left into the old cutblock. Staying closer to the creek and crossing to the right side is probably a better option.
