Skate ski 1:30:00 [2] 16.0 km (5:38 / km) +230m 5:15 / km

Morning session at Sovereign. I was with a different coach today (Mae) and again solo so lots of feedback. We went to the cabin and back via Carl Wylie. Interestingly she thought my right ski was my stronger glide ski today. Wasn't committing as well to the left side today (or was a little lazy). One good tip was thinking about closing the angle of the skis a little to maximize forward glide. Overall only minor adjustments and was very complementary of my technique which was nice. Finished with a solo loop which was good as I could cruise trying to maintain good form.

Skate ski 1:52:30 [2] 14.0 km (8:02 / km) +165m 7:35 / km

Afternoon session with Courtney's group - worked on some downhill step turning. I've never had a problem doing this but good to break it down and think about what really matters... stay low to edge well off the downhill ski. Pointed the inner arm towards the corner also seems to help.

Skate ski 1:30:00 [1] 16.0 km (5:38 / km) +179m 5:20 / km

Supercamp - it has been a few years since the last one so figured a refresher would be good. I was the only one in my group today (Mike was my coach) - not the first time I have had a private lesson at this camp... we were on the lower Silver Star trails. Good coverage though a few more rocks than I expected based on the conditions a few weeks ago.

Lots of good feedback today to tweak some things - driving with the knee, good pop from ankle, recovering tall with hands high ready to pole plant, square hips for good balance on glide, head and hips up on offset, step up the hill on offset.

Was skiing new skis and the right felt squirrelly at first but it was just me not putting adequate pressure on the ball of the foot. Amazing how much better my skiing felt after even just this session. Lots of video today which is a great tool. Slow motion makes everything look terrible;) I exaggerate...

Skate ski 1:15:00 [2] 12.0 km (6:15 / km) +150m 5:53 / km

Afternoon ski with Mike - solo again. We worked on double poling which was good as it turns out I bend at the hips too much. Same principle in terms of getting forward on the skis but make sure the first movement is a crunch of the upper abdominal muscles rather than a bend at the hips. Also work on reaching forward with poles which then leads to a vertical entry into the snow.
