Made use of the spring extension on my Vertical Card and toured off the resort with Stuart and Neil. It's been many years since I skied the Greely trees so I was curious if I would remember how the run went. My memory wasn't too bad...
Got a few fresh turns skiers right of Greely Bowl before we started touring. Lots of tracks in Birthday Chute and some tracks in the trees but for the most part we found fresh tracks and nice soft snow all the way down to 1500m. Didn't quite remember all the details but enough to find fresh tracks. The traverse into the creek is no problem and then climbed the other side. Ran into John T, his son, Jim and another guy. We ended up on a ridge with a good view towards Ghost. The run back down was very nice. The upper pitch was worth doing a few times and a few other options close by. We did a short climb to improve the last part of the ski into the drainage which was worth it.
The uptrack out went a bit further right than I used to go which confused me. The groomer run down was quite nice as just soft enough to carve without being slush until about the old ski hill. Good exploration - lots more to check out there.
