Paddle 1:00:00 [2] 5.0 km (5.0 kph)

Morning SUP session - surf was lower today which was fine for the SUP. Went a ways along the beach as good see some other guys on SUPs and I wanted to check out what they were doing. Caught a few good waves again. Found that the SUP was more fun and easier vs surfing (at least given my current surfing ability).

Bike 2:00:00 [2] 20.0 km (10.0 kph) +450m

Back to Catalinas with Courtney, Pete. Sean and Paul to rent bikes. The owner of the development is a mountain biker and has invested in about 20km of purpose built trails. He is from Florida so the trails aren't that technical (one meter wide machine built) but the views are great. For a first ride of the year I didn't mind the non technical trails - might get boring if you rode here all the time.

Swim 25:00 [2] 1.0 km (25:00 / km)

Swimming while on snorkel tour - did a few laps.

Paddle 30:00 [3] 2.0 km (4.0 kph)

SUP along the beach break - caught a few nice waves.

Paddle 1:30:00 [2] 7.5 km (5.0 kph)

Drove out to Las Catalinas with Courtney to check the coast north of us out. The shop here has much nicer paddle boards than anywhere else. We rented a couple 12'6" displacement boards so they moved through the water a bit better. The wind picked up a bit though so we weren't able to explore too far outside the bay. Getting back from Sugar Beach was rather hard work into the wind.

Paddle 30:00 [3] 2.0 km (4.0 kph)

A bit of playing on the SUP in front of the house. We've got a surf break right in front of us though the waves have not been ideal for my skills (and too steep for a SUP - I've also taken the surf board out a few times). Off shore wind during this paddle so didn't venture too far as didn't want to end up blown out to sea... mainly some practice turning the board and then going in and out through the break.

Run 45:00 [2] 7.0 km (6:26 / km)
shoes: Montrail Rogue Racer

We've moved to Playa Grande and met the rest of the crew. We've got a sweet compound right behind the beach and across the river from Tamarindo. Courtney and I went for a run along the beach. The tide was going down so enough solid sand to make it a reasonable running surface. Hot at 7am...

Run 45:00 [2] 5.5 km (8:11 / km) +220m 6:49 / km

Attempt #2 at running - same spot but went further. There are some great viewpoints of the ocean and the beach. Felt better than yesterday though still hot and can feel the lack of running.
