Another beautiful day - weather didn't start changing until much later than I expected. Climbed up Main Course and took a good look at dropping in directly off the ridge into Mayvill. It looked good but perhaps with a smaller group. Went for the simpler and safer main entrance - there were some old tracks which I could fee periodically but a great 500m run wihch I skied top to bottom. Legs are getting into skiing shape:) Decided to set a track directly back up the run which in these conditions worked OK. A bit exposed in higher hazard... probably better to use the usual track and do a short down/up to make it onto the little high point on the ridge. The upper section of this run was some of the softest and most sheltered snow so far - and a long fall line pitch to boot. Next headed up the valley towards the zone we skied yesterday. I had a specific run in mind that I had eyed up yesterday - an interesting north facing alpine pitch with a skinny chute and some cool rock fins on a more open section. First run only James and Wakana were convinced to come along (rest of the group skied a simliar line to one of yesterday's runs). Traverse left and ski on the shoulder before dropping a little roll into three wide chutes. Good snow and nothing moving - then a great continuation on the fan and into the trees. Thought I might call it a day but the skinny chute was calling so went back again (Brook joined the three of us). Really only about 50m are narrow (with a left dogleg) as the upper and lower sections are fairly wide. A bit skied out after four people though - two would be ideal but everyone had a good time and was satisfied with the "extreme" skiing.
