Hike 2:30:00 [2] 11.5 km (13:03 / km) +550m 10:32 / km
Trying to keep busy today - with my sister in town we decided to take her to ride the coaster at RMR. It was fun but surprisingly violent (you get thrown around a lot if you try to go fast and the taller you are the more you get thrown around...). After the coaster we rode the gondola higher and hiked the trail to the alpine that they built. Nice trail though a bit weird as it is at biking grade (i.e. climbs very gradually with lots of switchbacks that felt unnecessary on a hiking trail). We didn't make it to the top as time was running short. We took a more direct route down via Vertigo which was fine for the first 2/3rds then some crappy downed trees and bushes for the last bit. It didn't help that they were working on the road to the Ripper which meant we had to bushwhack a little extra to avoid running into the workers (technically I think we are supposed to stay on the trails).
