Last day of the hike - since yesterday we pretty much covered two days in just one we didn't have too far to go today. An early start allowed us to cross the last tidal channel at pretty low tide and had an easy ankle deep walk across. Easy to see how at higher tide this could be a much deeper experience. The last few km of the walk threw some final energy sapping pea gravel at us. Final highlight of the trail was seeing a small whale very close to shore playing or feeding in the surf. We walked through Friendly Cove, met Ray who collects the trail "fee" and waited for our ride back to Gold River (we'd called the plane for an earlier pick up). A nice end to a successful hike.
