Note

Well, let's write that week off as a training disaster.

8 weeks to go and I can't afford any more. Saturday was a write-off. In bed at 2:30am after school ball chauffering in a bus Friday night, cleaning for home open, kid birthday party and people around for dinner.

Had intended to run this morning, but felt totally knackered still, so slept for an extra 3 hours, deciding a long run might just be counterproductive.

Should be back on track now, though back is still sore. More physio tomorrow, so will see what happens.

Blah. Motivation yo-yoed between an intervals session, a fartlek run, a recovery run or nothing at all. Didn't make it out the door in the morning (again) but had some time to kill between the end of the school day and playing chauffeur to the school ball. In the end decided all I could handle was option 3, so very nearly did a repeat of my last run from school. Weekend is not looking too promising for training either. Will be lucky to fit in anything at all on Saturday, making for 2 crap training weeks in a row (but still no energy)

Super slow jog on the wet sand at a pace slower than I usually jog on the soft sand. Good to get the legs moving again before they stiffened up too much, but my back has flared up again - probably from a few awkward moments coming down the sandy rooty downhill just after turning off the bitumen in last night's loop. Hopefully will settle quicker this time as I'm already dosed up on nurofen and the rest of my back isn't quite as stupidly stiff thanks to the 2 recent physio visits.

After last week, backed the doubles off quite a bit. Don't know which makes for better training, but aimed at 9min/8:30, then sub 8 for the singles.

Not a good day to not bring a drink, and worst choice of shoes I could have made when heading out the door. Too soft and squishy and high for offroad.

Totally shattered all evening. Could barely get off the couch and had some serious work to do to rehydrate
