Run from McCraney to Dundas and back. Took it easy and was tired near the end. Have not done any long runs in a while.

Ice was rough in Burlington. Took it easy not to hurt anyone, me included.

Swimming 1:10:00 [3] 3.0 km (23:20 / km)

MTC Swim with Coach Stewart. Not fast but swim felt good. Swam 400 m on 7:55 and 100m on 1:55 to 2:02. Need more work on head position. I was keeping it stiller but too high in the water.

Okay game. Legs were tired. Two spills, hitting up helmet badly on one but was not dazed after. No neck problems on subsequent days though neck gave issues last year.

Warm up 10:00 and went 20:00 at 90 rpm, small ring 13 about 24 kmh. Increased for 10:00 to small 12 and about 26 kmh. After 3 tubes, I got my bike switched to training tire and wheels. Felt pretty good on the trainer, perhaps as my race wheel was slipping on the roller from the squealing. Legs were okay after the run.

First MTC core class with Dali & John. After doing Monday weights and core since September, I felt okay in the class though I had weak lower abs.

Tuesday Oct 20, 2009 #

MTC Swim with Coach JJ. See Mississauga Triathlon Club . Just noticed the MTC page is not up to date. Warm up 3 x (3 x100m, 2 x25 kick no fins, 2 x 25m BK/BR) Main - 600m with fines, 2 x 300m pull, 6 x 25m finger drills, 300 cooldown fly/back/free. Arms were a bit tired after weights last night. Trying to work on head position and streamline. Easy push off the wall.

Nice run to the XTown bridge and back. Legs felt tired to start but held up and knees were good.

Easy warm up for weights. Knees are tired after Sunday.

Did my basic home weight routine plus added machines in between. Did exhaustion sets on machines for legs primarily. Start at low weight, do 10 reps, increase one notch until I can not do 10 reps. 3 bonus sets of more core to finish things.

Last road ride of the season. Out to Campbellville and back, stopping for lunch. Temperature - 9°C. Burn - 1460 kcal. Wore full cold weather gear, booties, mitts, bike jacket, snowman tights and bike toque. Likely was a bit too warm and wet. Did a lot of sitting up hill climbing style. Once home, took off my good road wheels and put my training wheels and tires back on. Legs and knees tired after but it has been 4 weeks since I did over 30 km on a bike in one session. Outdoors training starts next Sunday.

Swimming 1:10:00 [3] 2.35 mi (29:47 / mi)

MYC Swim with Coach Stewart. Arms are not up to power yet. Work on low body position and breathing just above the surface. Worked out well but still too much head motion between rolls. Back stroke is still rough but fly was working.
