Running 1:17:00 [2] 10.5 km (7:20 / km)
ahr:135 max:113 slept:8.5 shoes: Asics Nimbus VI

Easy easy run twice around the block to get joints in the groove. Legs and left ankle felt a bit tired after 2 rigorous hockey games but just trying to get the feel for the road again. The sidewalks were about 10% ice making footing challenging but could do with the ankle strengthening. Burn - 650 kcal. Cold water bath after was painful but legs felt great after.

Cycling (Wind Trainer) 48:00 [3] 20.3 km (2:22 / km)
ahr:128 max:138 rhr:48 slept:8.0 shoes: Carnac TRS7

Turned intensity up on new bike to 24 + kmh during training session. Sweating heavily but felt strong. As in last session took a gel after 25 minutes with eload to get the feel for race refueling. No problems and will have to extend this.

Hockey 35:00 [3]
shoes: Koho 3380

Team sucked, especially goalie but a good skate. Lost badly!

Other team was light players so played for them with only 2 subs. Nice skate!! Went anaerobic for major stretches. Tough getting water on bench before switch wanted. Lost the game.

Cycling (Wind Trainer) 1:00:00 [3] 22.9 km (2:37 / km)
ahr:118 max:135 shoes: Carnac TRS7

Third day on the new bike. Trained 1 hour and the bike components feel good. Varied cadence and gear but tried to keep speed above 24 kmh except in warm up and cool down. Coming out of the sick bed felt pretty good.

Orienteering (Snow Shoeing) 1:10:00 [3] **
spiked:15/18c rhr:59 slept:7.5 shoes: Merrel Gortex Hiking Boots

HR was high, 10 over typical at rest, indicated I was still sick. Skipped swimming. Otherwise, felt great. The Stars Thomass was a bit tricky getting there as the roads were snow covered. I have used the 4 wheel drive on the GMC Jimmy a lot this year.

Nice area and deep snow made the race pretty much follow the leader but the is why the Thomass Seties is a good introduction to orienteering. Made a mistake on CP C but okay otherwise. Could have run faster but still was pretty iced up on my butt after the race. My snowshoes are intended more for deep snow. Just a beautiful day to make one appreciated the Great White North. Nice terrain on this new map. Would be interesting to see it in the summer. Thanks to Nick & the Stars for a fun event!!

Cycling (Wind Trainer) 40:00 [2] 14.6 km (2:44 / km)
ahr:112 max:127 rhr:65 shoes: Carnac TRS7

HR still high but felt like get acclimatized on new road bike. Spin 90 rpm varying gears to get the feel of the new bike. Quite a bit different than the old one with 10 gears versus 6. Everything felt okay but cooled down after 35 minutes. Afterwards, HR stayed at 100, much above typical 80 to 90.
