Orienteering (Vampire-O) 1:00:00 [3] ** 4.0 km (15:00 / km)
spiked:14/24c slept:8.0 shoes: Adidas ADZ16

The TOC Vampire-O always one of the seminal fall events, this year held at Darlington Park. Clive as usual did a great job. Cubs and small girls were commenting that I did not scare them so the overall effect worked. I prefer traditional monster garb. I had trouble bushwacking in mask and hair though and lost my control card three times but recovered it looking through a mask the whole time.. Started out great hitting the OOA control and getting a pumpkin. Was clipping off controls no problem when I came to a crossroad. I could see a group ahead when suddenly a vampire jumped out of the bush and got me. Drat, had about 12 controls. So I ran hard and chased down a group but they had no control card. Snuck up on another group but they had garlic. Finally got a group to bite but they only had 5 controls. Got a few more than got hit by a vampire again but the garlic saved me. Snuck up one the finish line but only had 7 controls out 24 but the pumpkin guaranteed a prize.

Great event as always by TOC!! Part stealth, part cunning and speed.
