orienteering 42:41 [3] 3.3 km (12:56 / km)

Middle at Ancaster. Great course. Lots of short technical legs near the start, one long leg which I took the trail route, but still had to orienteer carefully into the control. Terrible hill at the end.

control pick-up 45:00 [2]

Picked up controls in the technical area. Not too far, but far enough. Great to get out there in the peace and quiet. Saw a small snake.

orienteering 1:00:00 [2]

Model Event at Canterbury Hills. Glad I did it. Learnt a few things.

orienteering race 23:33 [4] 2.3 km (10:14 / km)

Sprint at McMaster. Went quite well, except for confusion after the first control. Really good course. Nice and tricky.

orienteering 24:13 [1] 1.1 km (22:01 / km)

Shadowed Gavan around course 1. Started off really well, then got quite confused in the buildings. But he persevered and figured it out all on his own.

orienteering 30:00 [2]

HP Fundraiser at Canterbury Hills with Ewan. Not sure how long we took exactly. Fun course.

hike 1:00:00 [1] 2.6 km (23:05 / km)

Hike at Spencer Gorge with J, E and G. Great waterfalls and views.

swimming 1:00:00 [4] 1.5 km (40:00 / km)

Lots of back crawl - intervals and drills, lots of kicking. Then a timed 500m fr. I think it was 10 minutes exactly (but might have been 11).

orienteering 15:00 [3]

control picking in complex contour terrain on barrier lake map. Karen put on an awesome training event. Really enjoyed it.

orienteering 47:00 [1] 2.5 km (18:48 / km)

Went with Gavan on course 2. Most of it was not too too hard, but Gavan had to learn to look ahead and plan a bit, as he wasn't going to bump into the controls. One leg was quite technical and aiming-off took some explaining. I'm not sure that he really got it, but then he's got another 6 years on course 1!

orienteering 20:00 [1]

Put out some of the controls. Needed some careful map reading. Thankfully there were ribbons.
