Orienteering race 16:38 [4] 3.2 mi (5:12 / mi)
NAOC Sprint.
Tired after yesterday, this felt like it would be a less-of-the-same add on like the US champs. With an early start and still-raw knee, I'm sure I would have trotted round in 18. But with an arena on a sports track, Greg's and Vladimir's increasingly excited commentary and lots of people racing about, excitement built up and by 10:40 I was ready to race. The sprint was in wholly runnable woods, nothing on the ground, with some slopes and low vis. The best woods sprint I've ever done: no excuse for anything but (what currently passes for) flat out running the whole way. Got passed on the penultimate leg by my 1 minute man. Fairly clean and happy with the run, lost 3 places on the final leg and run in despite sprinting it flat out. Pesky young people.
Jane had a massive 1 min win on W45, James ran up on M14, coming 5/10 (he should have been 2nd on M12, the courses being combined)
