Paddling (Esperance) 1:38:00 [3] 8.7 km (11:16 / km)

Took the sevylor out for a paddle to test our course. Had one portage section over a concrete weir and then out onto the ocean from the marina. Paddled approx 250m off the coast for the first section. Managed a good pace through the rolling swell and managed to join a pod of 5 dolphins for a hello.

Kept getting harassed by a jetski but apparently it was someone John knew!

Great day to be out on the water. Stunning conditions.

Coolish morning to go out. Forecast was for drizzle and the clouds outside indicated that it was quite possible. Legs took a while to loosen up and then i hit the roadworks around leach hwy and a few cyclists overtook me. Worked hard into the headwind along the freeway after mt henry bridge and managed to overhaul the riders who had earlier passed me. My legs started to fel good by this stage and i was able to pass lots of people struggling with the strong north wester up the freeway. Took the south perth option but avoided the flooded underpass at the causeway and decided to take vic park option home. Good ride back as the wind was behind me for this section.
