Hiking 4:30:00 [1] 17.5 km (15:26 / km) +50m 15:13 / km

Day 2. Started at 05:45 after being waken up by the sun and hearing cars drive towards the highway. Managed to get the first CP of the day quite fast, but then had to wait long at the on-ramp 72 on the A2 towards Magdeburg. After some time a car stopped and offered to take us one exit further. Better than nothing we thought, but when getting out the on-ramp was closed. 5,5km walking and lots of time wasted. Then had a nice streak of short waits and long rides, to take us to Rohrberg. To Salzwedel it took quite long again, and then again from Salzwedel towards Perleburg we waited long to get taken out of the city. A long walk from the on-ramp to the CP in Perleburg, and the longest wait of the competition (1h20) to get to the finish. Again a walk of about 3km from where we got dropped off to the finish, where we arrived as last team at 18:10...
Other teams got more lucky than us I guess, but we also made some huge tactical mistakes (taking breaks, wrong route choices) and took it too easy and relaxed. Frustrating at times, but lots of fun anyway.

DTSG race #2 in the Altmark, Germany. Day 1. Course here.

Decided to go for the order 1bcda, 2bca. Start at 10am, had a lot of encounters with other teams in the beginning until we left Havelberg at 17:00. Long waits made that we got stuck after all four 1st round CP's near Genthin at 21:00. Made some dinner and finally got a ride at 23:00 taking us to Burg. Tried for a bit but then decided to go sleep. Just as we were walking to find a place to sleep a polica van pulls up and asks for ID's :') We're both seriously annoyed and want to go sleep, but my teammate didn't bring his ID. Small trip to the police station where we got out again after they checked us. Assholes. Finally found a place for the night at 01:30, knowing we're far behind the other teams.

Evening ride with Louis and Tim. Wanted to go towards Lettele but changed our plans when we encountered road works. Turned out to be a nice ride on the countryside :)
One long sprint (50,1km/h :D) and then one more up the hill, quite dead after that...

Managed to squeeze a ride with Louis in between coming home from internship and the start of the football match between Netherlands and Germany.

Nice evening, although a bit chilly. Feeling really well. Ankle a bit more swollen afterwards but nothing to worry about since overall it's still getting better and better.

Ankle is much less sensitive, feeling pretty good. The swelling is quite persistent though, which makes it annoying. Doing everything I can do reduce it as much as possible, but I guess I just have to be patient...

Cycling 41:45 [3] 21.11 km (30.3 kph) +30m
shoes: Gazelle Giro

Bike back from the repair, needed some small adjustments. Feeling great on this evening ride, so pushed quite hard.

First part of the ride headwind, then back along the IJssel a nice tailwind. After 30' I dropped the pace a little and took it easy the remaining time.

Don't know if it's the road bike giving me a false sense of being in shape or just me not having lost that much fitness, but I didn't expect to reach these averages already so quickly :)

Ankle responded well, if it keeps improving like this I'll consider cycling to internship once or twice next week, 30km one way.
