TD opened today, so Carol and I got out for a quick loop up the hill before heading to the airport. Plane was an hour late, but we have a 15 hour layover in Dallas tonight anyway. Then two more flights all day tomorrow. Canada is far away.

Note

Had Carol's greencard interview in Sac today. Instablizzard starts just as we get down to the highway, we put chains on, they totally close the highway for half an hour, then chain control was 30 miles over the other side (instead of the usual 10). Parking in Sac was busy, the uscis building had a 20 minute metal detector line, and we got to the interview waiting room with a solid 4 minutes to spare. Interview was fine, we got each other's names right, and there didn't seem to be any problems. Driving home, we stop for gas, get back on the highway and the car clunks each time it shifts, then instead of going from 3-4 it wants to go from 3-2, which is many rpms. Wait for aaa for an hour, they won't tow it over the pass in the snowstorm, so he drives us to a couple rental car companies before we find one with a car. Yaris hits 60 on the highway, but only 45 going uphill. Fortunately no chains on the drive home. Don't know where my car is, they'll drop it in truckee when the snow clears. Meanwhile we're headed to Canada.

TruckeeSkiOC training at Auburn. Had five people out, including a couple new people, and even put out real flags. Or at least the pin flags, as opposed to the invisible kind. Snow conditions are pretty fantastic up there right now. Did the loops (2-1-3) hard with a couple minutes of easy skiing in between. Really felt like puking at the top of the big climb from 3-5 on 1, but I'm not sure if that was from the climb or from the altitude or from seasickness from reading the all important bonus wordsearch training.
