Wednesday night orienteering up on Fiberboard Freeway. It thunderstormed in the afternoon, so the smoke was up high and not a problem, though we had a constant dark orange glow from the sun which made everything look like Mordor. But the views over the lake looked sweet and somewhat creepy. The
map up there is good, and the forest is open with blowdown.
I set the flags in a mostly different order than I ran them, and Jonis and I were together for much of it, until he got really lost and I got ahead, then I tripped and fell in some rocky ground and demolished my knee (also my elbow and my hip). That'd be the part right after 3k where the speed tanks and then ramps back up over the next 5 minutes. I walked for a bit then started jogging, and it felt pretty ok by the end. Four hours later it feels terrible and is growing steadily bigger. It'll probably be great in the morning.
