It appears ski season is probably over, except for maybe some high up crust skiing, but I'm not even too excited about that.
Skiing logged wasn't the best, somewhat less then half the last couple years:
2010: 218h, 2750km
2011: 252h, 3075km
2012: 122h, 1426km
But I made a world cup happen, which was actually the main goal of this season, even above racing. And it went well for the most part. The WCup racers liked it, we didn't burn anyone out, and we didn't piss off the locals too much. I learned a lot about the sport and the people that make it go, for good and bad.
We only had snow on the ground for about half the normal season, which explains the low numbers, and once we got snow I was on a plane or in europe racing the other WCups.
WRE points finished a bit lower than last year (
583 vs 611), which is probably expected given that most of my on-snow training happened after sweden. But things came together by the end of the year and the Rim Tour was a pretty solid race, which I was happy about.
Next year I don't really want to be in europe as much, as its not really as rosy a training plan as everyone makes it seem, but it looks like two or three trips are probably inevitable.
But in the short term we'll play summer for a bit, with getting the Truckee Awesome Summer Series (TM) rolling and Jukola, and then breaking some rollerski tips. Also I think I'm skipping road bike double season this year, for no reason in particular.
