ski-o! 31:43 intensity: (1:53 @1) + (12:12 @2) + (17:38 @3) *** 2.04 km (15:34 / km) +23m 14:44 / km

setting controls, and fixing the map where I messed up making it from only the garmin track last night.

ski-o! race 18:50 intensity: (18 @1) + (21 @2) + (11:05 @3) + (7:06 @4) *** 2.03 km (9:16 / km) +16m 8:55 / km

Loop 1 of the early october truckee ski-o championships of awesome. Still mostly frozen, so did pretty good. Not sure about my route to 7. Also I lost a bag while hanging them (they were minicontrols and I just had them shoved down my tights), so 9 wasn't there. map, qr.

ski-o! race 19:16 intensity: (7 @1) + (38 @2) + (12:36 @3) + (5:55 @4) *** 1.89 km (10:10 / km) +14m 9:49 / km

Loop 2. The trails were getting skied in, but it was getting warmer so they were a little slower and I had uncovered a bunch of rocks. Found the missing control on the way to 11, so I stopped by and put it in the right spot. Got distracted by Jonis and turned too early going to 15. And my arms were completely toast trying to dp up the hill to 18. map, qr. Beat Jonis by about a minute on each loop, likely because of the my-rock-skis vs. his-racing-skis factor.

ski-o! 29:16 intensity: (2:40 @1) + (10:30 @2) + (16:06 @3) *** 2.17 km (13:28 / km) +5m 13:19 / km

Control pickup and talking to a random guy out walking that teaches lessons at the XC ski area. He actually knew what we were doing, from the ski-o races at TD every year. Though when I started describing this year's world cup plans, he said "wait, how's that work, I didn't know it was much of a race". Possibly due to our usual ratio of racers vs plaid wool pants and wooden ski rockstars.

Note

also, snow!

some more along the trail I set yesterday, then up and out to the other side of the ridge.

hiking (snowshoes) 1:49:26 intensity: (24 @1) + (38:01 @2) + (1:08:10 @3) + (2:51 @4) 4.98 km (21:58 / km) +19m 21:34 / km

then my poor arms got tired, so I put on the snowshoes and ran around the woods for a bit. possibly in a maze-like pattern.

The storm blew through, the wind died, and it was quite nice outside. Despite anything Carol might tell you.

Geez, the crap I have to go through to cross train for the roller-ski-o champs. Still coming down and super windy on the ridge, so not exactly pleasant out, but you know, snow. Maybe a foot where I was skiing, four inches at home, and nothing on the ground down at Jonis's.

mtn bike 48:42 [2] 6.43 mi (7.9 mph) +271m

Easy ride around TD to loosen up my poor busted hip. It doesn't hurt at all, but it pops when you bend it a lot and its a little tender, so I'm assuming something is still wrong.

Moved some more furniture around the new house, and filled up the hot tub, then tried to figure out what sort of chemicals we need to add to it to change it from tap water cleanliness to toxic awesome.
