High run around the loop of Tamarack pk, on the first part of the Mt Rose trail. Tons of people out, most of whom sounded like they don't get to altitude very often. Nice trail, and mostly flat. Good views of tahoe on the way back. Also the Mt Rose meadows, recently voted most likely to be ski-o'd next spring.

meh. super hot and dry. supposed to get some humidity back tomorrow, which might be nice. ran into two old guys out skiing the other way, so stopped to chat with them for a while. then they made fun of my short skis. oh, the death machines. ran over some gravel on a downhill which popped off both speed reducer levers, that was probably more excitement than I really needed tonight.

laid back ride around TD. sun was already behind the mountain, but not too chilly. started by climbing up first, which led to a sweet screamer down the ridge on Sundance. spooked enough animals for a small zoo, including one deer that jumped into the middle of the trail and then froze, which was pretty awesome of it. yea for disc brakes. also found a new singletrack at the end, nothing too exciting, but these things are hidden everywhere.

ok seriously, wtf. why can't anyone make stuff for the big kids, its just a metal tube.

Not to be stopped by breaking just the bike and not me, I went out for a long lap around TD on the mt bike. Up over the top and around Donner ridge, the back side of which, while much fun to run down all the whoopdedoos, is super awesome on the bike.

All the water yesterday damped down the dust a lot, so the trails were in really good shape. The storm blew through last night and this morning it was clear and wicked cold. But I finally got to wear the super bike tights I picked up last spring, which feel sortof like riding in a wetsuit. Nice and warm though. Now I just need the same thing for the top half of me.

Hard run with Donatas through Prosser. Felt good for the first half, then the stomach started feeling really crappy. Hope it was just too much oatmeal for lunch and not west coast egg disease...
