palisades ridge. hips felt pretty sore this morning, but it was nice and cool and breezy and not really that hazy.

Got the new pole tips, thanks dad! Those or the gu bottle definitely wouldn't have made it through the airport, the security guys were on a roll. They took the tiniest pair of nail clippers from the lady in front of me, and two fairly large bottles of red wine from somebody else.

hiking 2:00:00 [3]

Mt Conness (12,500) from Saddlebag Lake. Went up the Conness-White pass on the south side, which was pretty straight forward except for the snowcovered bits, then up the wide flat plateau (pic looking backwards) to the summit block. The last 300 feet or so was along a super dodgy knifeedge with some good drops on either side. It wasn't quite up to Zion's Angels Landing standards of dodgyness, but it was getting close. Came down the east ridge, which was better (more sun = less snow) than the way up.

all the photos. in a weird order since I was using two cameras, and they name things differently.
