mtn bike 2:15:00 [3] 19.0 mi (8.4 mph) +950m

palisades to the hub, then to the top of topanga canyon, then to parker mesa. then back. basically start on the ocean end of one ridge (but up 1500ft), up that one until you can cross over to the next one left, and down that one. a big U shape around the top of santa ynez canyon. trying out the new shoes I got last week (to go with the new pedals). the fit is pretty good, hope they stretch a bit. but considering I found them in an actual store and didn't have to special order them, I can't complain too much.

so I'm guessing soccer is the cause of my sore toe joint problem. or more likely my soccer shoes. probably because its a lot of sprinting on the ball of the foot, and there isn't much padding in the cleats (we play on a rock hard dirt "field"). I did the two-insole-two-sock trick today and it felt pretty good.

with Tom after work. the toe hurt a bunch this morning, but I ran with two insoles and two pairs of socks on that foot, so it didn't feel too bad while running.

run 1:31:00 [3] 10.44 mi (8:43 / mi) +300m 8:00 / mi

palisades to the hub, then a loop around eagle rock. as opposed to the last couple weeks, this one actually felt really good (even with the busted toe), maybe it was the few days off. the view wasn't too bad either.
