Running (Street & Trail) 38:47 [3] 5.4 mi (7:11 / mi)

From Quill Point Dr., up Prospect Hill Rd. to Bell Station Rd. to the WB&A Trail, just past Hillmead Rd. on the trail to the park at Poplar View Dr., then Hillmeade Station Rd. to Hillmead Rd. to Quill Point Dr. Oddly like last week; at about 9pm in the dark and 64F. Even slower than last week--a little stiffer, still and my left knee area hurt some. I was working late the previous night.

Weights (General) 4:00 [3]

30 pushups and 45 situps.

From the UMD Track parking lot, Adelphi Rd. to Belcrest Rd. to Toledo Rd. to East West Hwy., then up the NW Branch Trail to Stanford Ln. to the UMD Track parking lot. I was just working out the aches and pains on this beautiful fall day. Yesterday I rested and dug another garden.

Orienteering (Competition) 5:05:20 [3] 26.3 km (11:37 / km) +1100m 9:36 / km

Hudson Highlander on the Hogencamp Mountain map. There were 4 loops. I ran with different groups most of the whole way. I fell and broke a compass in the first loop and Erin Olafsen was kind enough to lend me her spare at the aid station. Though I navigated, the train of people definately helped me out more than I helped it. Some of the people who were leading where it was toughest were Peter Gagarin, Greg Balter and Daniel Schaublin. I ran most of the course with Scott Pleban. He lead me into many controls and I returned the favor some. I finished a little behind Scott as Daniel, Greg, Dimitri and I gutted it out the last two long road legs (I caught 3 but didn't make-up much on Scott). It was a great day to be running long--clearing skies with temps in the 40's and 50's. I'd really like to spend a week training, not just racing on this type of terrain.
