Running (Warm-up) 8:00 [2] 1.0 km (8:00 / km)

Warm-up for Day 2 of the Georgia Navigator's Cup.

Orienteering (Competition) 56:51 [4] 6.15 km (9:15 / km)
spiked:8/11c

Day 2 of the Georgia Navigator's Cup A-Meet at Sweetwater State Park on the New Manchester map. I was very tired; feeling out-of-shape. I ran fairly well but couldn't catch Ed Buckley or David Frei. I got 2nd in M40+ and 3rd on the Red course, just like Day 1 but a little further behind. It was warmer and less hilly.

Hiking (Day-Hike) 15:00 [1] 0.6 km (25:00 / km)

Peggy and I had some time to spend before our flight back to Baltimore so we drove to Stone Mountain on the east side of Atlanta. Peggy's toe was throbbing from the GNC so we only took the skytram to the top and walked around late in the day. It was pretty with nice views but a bit too commercial.

Running (Warm-up) 6:00 [2] 1.2 km (5:00 / km)

In Sweetwater Creek State Conservation Park. Peggy and I flew in with our plane 20 minutes late. We rushed out of the airport to the park, ran to registration and ran to the start line for a forced warm-up. We had both missed the start times by a couple minutes and were graciously given new starts 15 minutes later.

Orienteering (Competition) 1:06:10 [4] 7.6 km (8:42 / km)
spiked:13/14c

Georgia Navigator's Cup A-Meet at Sweetwater State Park on the Factory Shoals map. It was a physical race with a 100M hill that most had to climb two times on two separate legs. There were several easy controls with lots of trail routes. I had the third fastest time on Red, 2nd in M40+. Temperatures were below freezing. See the Split List.

Running (Street & Trail) 12:58 [3] 1.95 mi (6:39 / mi)

From Quill Point Dr.; roads around Northridge. Windy w/temp. in low 20's and light snow/ice on the ground. I just wanted to warm-up... Right calf still tight but better.

Running (Street & Trail) 36:16 [3] 5.15 mi (7:03 / mi)

From Quill Point Dr., Hillmeade Dr. to the WB&A Trail, to Bell Station Rd. to Prospect Hill Rd. to Quill Point Dr. Started off very slowly. My right calf was very tight and I was worried about blisters from Tuesday. I loosened up some, running w/heavy sweats in the mid-20 degree night.

Running (Indoor Track) 20:45 [2] 4.63 km (4:29 / km)

In Cole Field House, UMD w/PGRC. I had intended to run outside but I forgot to bring my running shoes. It was going to take too long to go home and come back so I ran barefoot on the concrete. It was okay but toward the end I could feel blisters forming and after stopping blisters or my calus' definately hurt.
