Orienteering race 6:00:16 [2] ** 42.31 km (8:31 / km) +615m 7:56 / km

Valley Forge O-Marathon, with Clint the entire way (until the parking lot at the end :-). We started at 7 AM, meaning that it was a little tough to read the map at the very beginning, but we avoided the "heat of the day". No errors to speak of. Didn't push terribly hard, and definitely walked more in the latter part than we did early on. Hips hurt some, and all of the various leg muscles got sore, but never completely ran out of energy or cramped up. No blisters at all, and the initial impression is that all of the toenails will have survived this as well. Quite a fine time.

Shoveling (snow) 40:00 [3]

Got the driveway, mailbox, and path to the front door clear. This stuff was not a problem, pretty light and fluffy, the kind of snow that's good to pack into a pint glass and add OJ to for a delicious slushy treat! And good for outdoor recreational purposes, if it doesn't get too badly whacked by the junk that's forecasted to fall Saturday night.

Shoveling (snow) 20:00 [3]

At Nancy's.

Shoveling (snow) 15:00 [3]

Just enough to get the car off the road.

Shoveling (frozen crud) 30:00 [3]

Wild guess on the time. Decided to get some of the old useless stuff off of the driveway and the mailbox area in advance of tonight's predicted additional dose of useless stuff. This is not Yowsa!; I doubt this particular species of icy garbage has ever existed in the state of Wyoming.
