Disappointing day, with a reasonable run, spoilt by a couple of sloppy mistakes. First control was ok, then dropped a couple of minutes on second when got right and found 3, then got the act together through to 5. Stuffed 6, hit the road, checked compass and still managed to get it wrong but quickly realized. Then over shot the control and looped around. Stopes about 8 minutes. Then another couple on 7, when I got a bit left. Clean after that, too late. Disappointing effort. Would have been happy with 48 or 50, but tomorrow is another day

Pretty easy morning. Basically a couple of laps of the inlet, a lot of which was narrow, winding bush track. Suffering from a cold and blocked nose that my wife had kindly given me as a new year gift.

To get a flatter run I had to break my rule about not driving to a run. Drove over the hills to murahua and ran along the Tasman track. Great area, and a really nice run. It was longer than I had intended, but got sucked in by the scenery along the track

Was going to be a flatter run, and sections were, but the long climbs were replaced by several sharp ones

Up the same hill as yesterday and further, went all the way down the other side, then along the flat. Long drag back up on the return
