Note

I think OAKs and assorted correspondence deserve some credit/blame for this whole insurance imbroglio.

In a long thread of emails a month ago, there were questions and clarifications of this nature...

Thanks Glen,

While we will certainly like to have the kids join OUSA, is that really required? These are kids, some of whom we hope, have no idea what orienteering is. Joining DVOA and/or OUSA would be an additional sell.

Do normal competitors at a DVOA (or club XYZ) local meet need to be members of OUSA to have insurance coverage? Most of them aren't even members of DVOA, to say nothing of OUSA.

I'm just trying to understand the implications and requirements.

Thanks,
Clem

In repeatedly trying to suss out the limitations of the insurance coverage by asking about various implications, I think we finally got things illuminated.

Thanks OAKs!

Note

After I'm in charge of something for 4 years, and get around to noticing a big flaw (e.g., an unhedged TR swap or something) and then when someone starts fishing around and asking impertinent questions, and then I notice that something I had oversight for was completely out of whack, I'll make sure I remind my supervisors (or at least T/D) that I fixed it (4 years later.)

Good work tonight. Indian hills and then some more rolling down past Valley Green. At 50 minutes in, decided to have a go at the race course. 21:52 back. Then an easy jog up the hill and around the roads to get in the full 90.

Note

Apparently, I need to do this in 20 to have decent form back. We'll see.
