(rest day)

Rest day.

Thursday Apr 17, 2008 #

Run 58:46 [2]
shoes: Salomon XCR

TNT. Ran mostly with Tom. We went over to the Ridley park office and back.

Had to cut slightly short due to some GI problems.

I've been feeling a bit worn down. Not tired, necessarily, but just kind of blah. My scheduled rest weekend is here, but it won't be that restful. I won't be running, but I won't have time to relax, which I need.

Work is quite stressful, as are the ancillary aspects of our impending changes.

Training-wise, I feel like I am going through the motions now, but the overall life dissonance is definitely weighing on me and precluding (or pretending to preclude) my anticipated training transition.

Rowing Machine 1:00:00 [2]

Easy row. Around 13K.

Run 1:05:00 intensity: (55:00 @2) + (10:00 @3)
shoes: Salomon XCR

TNT. Ran with Jim.

Jim was running well, but as is his tendency, with quite erratic pace. He was cranking at the beginning of mile 4 but unsurprisingly couldn't sustain that pace (I was starting to think he would, which would have been impressive.)

Weight training 30:00 [2]

Basic stuff. Less dips (3 x 15) and felt weak, no pull-ups, and aborted the curls because my left forearm was really sore. And the only thing I can think that would have caused that was hitting golf balls. That would be pathetic.

Still, did a good job on the CP (up to 220) and push-ups, so I am not a complete bust.

Bike 30:00 [2]

Easy, on the new bikes (with touch screen and integrated TV.) At least they had straps, so I can't really complain.

Run 30:00 [2]
shoes: February 2008 Asics

Easy run, from 6.5 to 7.5 mph, and from 1% to 2.5%.

Run warm up/down 10:00 [1]
shoes: Asics Dirt Devils

Easy warmup.

Orienteering race 1:04:32 [4] *** 11.1 km (5:49 / km) +90m 5:35 / km
shoes: Asics Dirt Devils

Colliers Mills Blue.

A little disappointing, but not a bad run in retrospect. I wanted to be faster but could not have done too much better.

I lost about a minute tying my shoes and maybe 1:30-2:00 in errors/execution. Still, this placec is so easy, those errors are not so forgivable.

I do love the shoes, however.
