Note

Better log some training. Have to catch up on a lot of logging, but this week, I have to catch up on training, too.

Abyssmal. I did a total of 85 minutes last week. This week will be better, I hope.

Note

Played golf with Dasha and my mom.

Golf could be training but I never get to play the way that I want: no carts and a maximum of 2 hours.

I really would like to play golf if scoring was a combination of strokes plus time spent.

Run 1:25:00 [3]
shoes: Lop

TNT. Mostly with Tom but he peeled off a bit early. Very hot.

Sunday Jun 24, 2007 #

Note

NYC trip 6/24 through 6/27. Schedule too tight to do any training :(

Saturday Jun 23, 2007 #

Run warm up/down 25:00 [1] 3.5 mi (7:09 / mi)
shoes: May 2007 Integrators

(Forgot to log this.)

Warmup

Orienteering race 41:53 [4] **** 5.19 km (8:04 / km) +125m 7:12 / km
spiked:6/8c shoes: May 2007 Integrators

(Didn't log this either.)

HR Red. A very good run on a nice, middle distance-like course.

I had very few issues whatsoever but Wyatt beat me by 1.5 minutes or so. He had a great run.

Run 1:01:00 [3]
shoes: 10/2006 Asics

Ran over to the school and around the fields at level 2 pace. After 30 minutes went to the track and did:

74 400
2 minute 400
78 400
2 minute 400
77 400
2 minute 400
75 400

and then some more running on the grass and back.

Thursday Jun 21, 2007 #

Run 1:02:30 [2]
shoes: Adidas

Had hoped to do two hours but was so tired that I didn't want to get out the door. Luckily, I did because it was a great evening for running. Still, didn't leave myself more than an hour. Ran around the fields. Mostly level 2 with a minute here and there of cruising.

shoes: May 2007 Integrators

2007 Jukola leg 7.

Saturday Jun 16, 2007 #

Event: Jukola 2007

Run 20:00 [3] 2.6 mi (7:42 / mi)
shoes: Lop

Quick run with GregA out to the sprint training area and around through the moss.

Friday Jun 15, 2007 #

Note

Beat the FWOCers.

Map Hike/Run 1:00:00 [2] ***
shoes: Lop

Some more Jukola training. My toe was killing me from the sprint last night so I could barely run.

I couldn't orienteer very well either.

Thursday Jun 14, 2007 #

Run 25:00 [2]
shoes: Lop

Warmup before the sprint qualifier.

Orienteering race 16:29 [5] **** 3.0 km (5:30 / km)
shoes: Lop

2007 World Cup #1 Sprint.

A not so bad race but a horrible result. The course was fairly easy and lower in quality than many of our local or US sprints. I should have done about two minutes better I think.

I was very awkward in punching and hesitated a lot. Lost about a minute of explicit, stupid mistakes and the rest due to carelessness.

Not an auspicious start.

Run warm up/down 50:00 [2] 7.0 km (7:09 / km)
shoes: Lop

To and from our Jukola training session with Greg and Dasha.

Orienteering 55:00 [2] ****
shoes: Lop

Very easy jog around the sprint final model area.

Orienteering race 20:27 [4] **** 3.2 mi (6:23 / mi)
shoes: May 2007 Integrators

A tough race. Smashed my left toe twice, fell down on the way to the go control, and had a 1+ minute mistake on the penultimate control.

The first part of the race was way trivial and the second a very much middle distance feel.

Wednesday Jun 13, 2007 #

Orienteering 15:00 [2] *** 2.1 km (7:09 / km)
shoes: Lop

Sprint model training @ around 11:00 at night.

Tuesday Jun 12, 2007 #

Orienteering 15:00 [2] *****
shoes: Lop

DxDeluxe training.

Run warm up/down 10:00 [1]
shoes: Lop

Very light warmup before the sprint.

Orienteering race 20:17 [5] 3.23 km (6:17 / km)
shoes: Lop

Tempo Cup #2 in Boris-ville.

A pretty poor race but a great course.

Thursday Jun 7, 2007 #

Run 38:00 [2]
shoes: 10/2006 Asics

Little run with Dasha to the school.

Wednesday Jun 6, 2007 #

Run 30:00 [2]
shoes: 10/2006 Asics

Easy run at night through the neighborhood.

Was going to bag it, but will probably need to bag other days coming up, so did something.

After an event at Ardrossan. One of the best I've ever been to. Awesome.

Tuesday Jun 5, 2007 #

Run 1:25:00 [2]
shoes: Lop

Similiar loop to yesterday, but started from home, didn't do the blue trail spur, and ended at the track. Also took it easier than last night with Tom. Still, hills are hills.

Run race 2:42 [4] 0.8 km (3:22 / km)
shoes: Lop

This run had little physical significance--I was doing for mental reasons. Goal time was 2:40. Didn't look at my watch until I hit the finish.

Purpose was to see how close my sense of pace was and to run when legs were quite flat.

Run 12:00 [2]
shoes: Lop

Kind of a cooldown back home, but also ran a couple stretches at level 4.

Monday Jun 4, 2007 #

Run 1:30:00 [3]
shoes: Lop

Run with Tom. Same route as last time, but no red hill at the end. Most was easy but the last 20 minutes were harder. I cooled down for 5 minutes on the fields.

Sunday Jun 3, 2007 #

Orienteering race 50:30 [4] ***
