Riding on the Euro6 following the Doubs, then the canal du Rhin-au-Rhone, then along the Saône and finally the entire canal du centre until it reaches the Loire at Digoin.
We were 3 couples and carried our own stuff in bags riding for 5 days a total of 309 km. I had trouble recording with my Garmin and being on gps for 6+ hours per day emptied the battery most of the time.
We started in Besançon until Dole on Day 1;
Dole to Verdun-sur-le-Doubs on Day 2;
Verdun-sur-le-doubs to Santenay in Burgundy on day 3;
Santenay to Palinges, the longest stage over 70 km on day 4;
Palinges to Digoin and back to Paray-le-Monial on day 5;
heading back by regional trains (slow travelling) to Besançon, then La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland and home.
It was fun, though quite cold with threatening rain although there was just a short shower on day 2. It makes such a difference when the sun is out and everything is full of light and smiles.
I did this trip already in 2014 with 2 other friends.
