The course felt much more like a long than yesterday. Knee has a big bump. leg hurts where I rammed it into the fence but no pain while running. Nice clean race today with mainly just improvements to do with route choice.

1 - Pretty easy first leg
2 - Picked a good route but decided to change it at the end and run in the creek rather than cross the reentrant and continue straight to the control. That also would have prevented me from making a silly parrel error.
3 - good
4 - Kinda hidden behind a bush so couldn't really see it until I looked around hard once I saw the trail
5 - Another good route that I messed up at the end due to not being super confident about which reentrant I was running towards and thus having to run through some rougher veg
6 - Almost missed the cut between the trails but fixed it at the last second
7-10 - good stuff
11 - got a bit distracted by another person and started running to the next valley over so added a bit of extra distance and denser veg running but only a second off of first place so not the worst
12 - Good, not sure where else I could have made up time other than I was a little slow on the down and up by the creek
13 - Thought I was further along and could cut to the road but was still deep in the woods and ended up having to reroute a little and take some extra distance. Probaly would have been best to just take the road for this leg tbh.
14 - got a little thought off by a control on a similar feature just outside the control circle again but good bearing to the area
15 - was a little high on the hill
16 - fast

Overall: Much better day today. Mistakes this weekend seem to mostly be either not being used to the terrain or lack of focus which is something I need to continue to work on more. Nothing feeling sore during my run after what happened yesterday luckily and my calves still holding up but will likely need to give them some rest in the coming days.

More of the long middle type of classic today. A good bit of green and a lot of similar-looking reentrants.

1 - Good although I could have done a better job on my bearing from the road
2 - Felt a little sloppy running the leg but ended up being good
3 - Missed the reentrant and then turned around when I saw the trail. Should have been looking up more since the footing wasn't too bad in the creek. Also looking at it now I should have cut across from the reentrant before it to avoid the extra distance from the bend in the creek.
4 - Didn't know that the trail would be so small and also didn't notice I would have to run downhill to it a little so I just ran along the edge of the hill and got a bit slowed down by the green.
5 - Good balance of climb and extra distance on my route. Also did a good job looking ahead to where the control would be in the areas with good running and visibility.
6 - good
7 - good, maybe a bit too far right exiting 6
8 - Parallel error. the reentrants looked almost identical and even had controls is a gully in the same spot. Somehow did not lose too much time
9 - Kinda unfocused so I thought I was running to 10 at one point for some reason and then didn't notice the control was on the small gully next to the larger one.
10 - Regained focus and hit this one pretty nice
11 - Really stupid route here. Thought it would be faster to run through the white and out to the road even though I missed the white anyways and didn't even get to the road. Even if I had executed my route correctly it did not provide good access to the control. Lost about a minute here
12 - Lost 30sec here even though I thought it went well. Maybe just bad choices while running through veg
13-14 - good use of compass and handrails
15 - Good start but then didn't notice the gully also angled the same way as the one I was looking for so was overconfident even when the veg got bad while it was supposed to be white forest. Lost a solid 2min here due to getting caught up in the thorns
16 - easy
17 - Didn't even notice the trail south of the control which would have been a very nice route. Also went up the wrong trail that quickly disappeared but did a good bearing and recovered even though it required to allot of running through dense veg so not to much time loss
18 - maybe could have cut up to the reentrant sooner but fine as is
19 - good leg but tripped and banged up my knee in the creek so a little slow to get going again
20 - meh
21 - Solid. Not sure about the route choice but we'll see if a routegadget goes up
22 - ran full speed into a (non-barbed) wire fence at hip height but otherwise good
23-F - nice and fast

Overall: kinda felt unfocused and sloppy for a lot of the race. Might have been that I was outrunning my map reading since there were allot of small trees with branches at eye height I had to watch out for instead of reading my map.

Flying pig middle. Had a pretty good race other than a MP on 2.

1 - Easy first leg
2 - Oversimplified this leg too much and ended up with a MP. Don't know why this was one of the only controls I didn't check the code for even though the only course notes were to make sure you do so.
3 - could have gone a little straighter but probably a little messed up from being at the wrong control to start with
4 - good, nice contouring
5 - Solid direction but then pulled off by another spur that was bigger than expected
6 - good leg but read the wrong description and thought it was on a spur rather than a reentrant so lost a bit of time checking that
7 - Good bearing despite the dense veg so really happy with that. Might have been better to go around through the gully but I executed my plan well
8 - Bobbling around a little at the end due to all the deadfall
9 - Solid bearing but again it might have been better to go around
10 - Good direction
11 - Ran a bit high on the hillside
12 - Good negotiation of
13 - Nice but could have cut through the green although that would have been a little risky
14 - Though I had overrun a little but apparently so not
15 - good

The main slowdown was due to the hills and vegetation. Will focus on route choice tomorrow. Left calves was sore by the end but pain disappeared before the cooldown. So disappointing that I got a MP since that was such a good race for me.
