Lapham Peak - Colorama 10K
3 min slower than last year, but temps were a lot cooler now, so I'd say 5-6 min slower. Considering I have not run a 7 miles since my birthday and 0 running in the past week + sick, I'm feeling some accomplishment....
I managed to be sprinting in the finish shute, passing in fast order 2 gals that kept breating in my neck and passing me... more exactly keeping me honest of my low running curent ability.
Today I watched the lake front marathon guys...and I felt sorta sorry for them. Hmmmm....

Lapham Peak - Orienteering
Beautiful day to get more action after my first race. And, to my surprise there were a few new controls... I know those woods with my eyes closed, so that was entertaining. Good work for the organizer! Well, a couple controls a bit out of place, but could never ever complain on someone volunteering for so much work! Never!
Navigation school with Greg. I intially let him choose routes and we'd discuss it before and after. Then I realized we only had one week to get him ready for action and this was the only time for it. So next half the course I navigated with him following closely exactly on the map and then dicussing at each leg why I picked the route and such. Then he navigated, quite well, to the last few. He definetely needs more practice but he has a good chnace to get to a control should they decide to split us.
Some canoeing followed.
Still freaked out about my coming up 18H.
