Long run of the week, found it really hard to get myself motivated enough to do this. A thin layer of snow fell overnight, the first of the year. Felt pretty strong thoughout after wisely deciding to take it easy last night instead of going for the triple-header. Ran to St. Joseph's Oratory, Summit Park and along the Mont Royal park circuit. Was sort of racing some other runners on the circuit from the 70 to 90 minute mark, good to get some intensity.

Week 2/20 of my winter training program. 5/5 hours complete this week, 10/10 total, 10% complete

Intervals run in Mont Royal Park. Did 4 intervals of 6 minutes worth of hard running (probably about a mile each except for the first one, which was uphill). Was definitely not at 100% for the following reasons:
-Too much beer consumed in the last 48 hours
-Starting to get a cold, have a pretty bad sore throat today
-Really in need of a complete rest day fairly soon

Hockey/Skating 15:00 [3]

Hockey game on Friday night of Halloween weekend. Might have had 1 beer too many as I had an impact game but in the wrong sort of way. Had no points and was minus 2, with a whiffed stick check, a whiffed block shot attempt, and a whiffed tap in on a breakaway deke after I had the goalie beat. Lost 4-2, pretty demoralizing

Wasn't able to make it to the $2 shinny but was able to make it out to the free skate instead. Trying to make my skating more fluid and effortless because I am going to be playing center this year. My backwards skating is still not quite where I want it to be.

7*1km intervals at the Tomlinson Fieldhouse. Average time of 3:40 not where I need it to be (3:30), but I'm not sure that really matters yet. Managed 3 good times and 2 gutsy efforts on my last 2 intervals where I was struggling a little bit. Not really sure about what I can say about my time on the third interval though. Will need to sacrifice plenty of sweat to the interval gods if I want to improve this winter.

Tempo run in Mont Royal Park, a mix between trail and terrain running with my o-shoes. Wasn't terribly fast but felt decent, rather foggy today so no view from the top.

Hockey/Skating 20:00 [3]

Game against the best team in the division. Still need to improve my conditioning a bit. Almost preserved my even +/- for the season until my last shift where I was hazy mentally and let my man take the puck to the net for a goal. Ended up -1, no points in a 7-1 loss.
