Orienteering 1:33:40 [2] *** 8.0 km (11:43 / km)
spiked:5/12c shoes: Inov8 MudRoc

Beautiful day on the Wildlands map at Smoky Lake, around +20 and sunny. Didn't have a very good run as I was sloppy making 1-5 minute mistakes frequently (rather than all consecutive but contained like Saturday). Made about 15 minutes total errors and was running a good 10% slower than Saturday as I didn't have the same energy level and was starting to get some blisters. 2nd place, 2 minutes back of Geraint, overall satisfaction level 2.5/5. Even though I wasn't running too well on the weekend (with the exception of 1/2 and 6-F on Saturday) it was still enough to win by over 20 minutes in the 2 day total as my closest competition was Geraint. Would have been nice if Wil had at least finished on Saturday so that I would have something to measure myself against a bit more.

Orienteering race 1:25:00 [3] *** 8.3 km (10:14 / km)
spiked:10/13c shoes: Inov8 MudRoc

B Meet at Fort Assiniboine Wildlands map, site of the World Masters Final 2005. Lost about 7 minutes on 3, 4 minutes on 4 and 2 minutes on 5 but other than the terrible 2nd quarter of the race I was running pretty well for the other 9 controls and got 10 fastest splits. 1st place, 23 minutes ahead of Geraint and Wil got bored and quit (with about a 6 minute lead 60% of the way through). Overall satisfaction level 3/5

Orienteering 16:45 [4] 2.8 km (5:59 / km)
shoes: Saucony Pro Grid

Club sprint champs in Rundle Park. The best courses so far in the 5 or so years the club has been doing this. 2nd place, 3 minutes back of Will. Made a number of 10-15 second mistakes (probably adding up to 1:15 or so) and didn't have my sprinting legs as I was unable to really push myself past my 10k race pace. Need to do more training, have to find a way to motivate myself to work out in all the breaks in my schedule as well as start working on several of the 4 term papers I will have due at various points this semester.
