I decided to make my first winter night run of the year a 2.5 hour endurance run late at night (10:30 to 1am) in a snowstorm after 4 weeks of marginal training. I had my first indication that the run would be difficult 7 minutes in when I had already dropped my power gel out of my pocket. I had my second indication that the run would be difficult 33 minutes in when my camelback straw became frozen solid. Via Mont Royal, Westmount, Lionel Groulx, Old Montreal. Quite the epic run, I managed to stay strong for the first 2 hours but then really struggled in the last 30 minutes.
