Cycling 35:00 [2]

Running 35:00 [3]
shoes: Saucony Pro Grid

went out for a run when I got home from work when it was still +30 out to build up some heat resistance, and did some technical trail running on the slump bank between McKenzie and McKinnon ravines along the North Saskatchewan River. Was surprisingly strong, although I was certainly not explosively fast I didn't fade out either.

Orienteering 48:11 [3]

Wednesday night park event at Mill Creek. Score controls, so not sure of the exact length. Was really warm, so I was stupid in places and was only really able to run hard for the first 20 minutes or so before mailing it in after that

Orienteering warm up/down 10:00 [2]

set up and picked up some mini controls for a coaching exersize in one of the parts of the map most similar to forest terrain in the city

Running 15:00 [1]

manhunt by Corbett Hall on the south part of the U of A campus. Brilliant location with a field and parkades, but didn't really get into heated chases before the final 10 to 15 minutes or so.

Note

The last 4 weeks I couldn't be bothered to log all of my training, but here is an approximation: M-F: bike to/from work, 35min/day, 2:55/week. W: Orienteering, 45-90minutes. Sat/Sun: 2-4 hours biking. Total: 5-8.5 hours, mainly low intensity (1-2) biking.

Also, I am no longer able to make it to the COCs in Manitoba at the end of the summer, as I am going on a geology field school to the Northwest Territories instead. While I don't have as much motivation to do hard running training this summer I am in decent shape, and my weight is at my lowest level since before JWOC 2007, when I was training 4-6 days a week instead of being lazy.
