Cycling 25:00 [2]

Bixi to and from a friends house

Running long 2:02:00 [2]
shoes: nike air pegasus

Long run Mount Royal-Westmount-Mount Royal. Felt alright throughout, not as tired as I have been the last couple of weeks. Not bad last week of training. Other than last weekend I have pretty much been on pace with my training plan this month.

*NOTE: Actually ran this on Monday, but I am switching the date to make my weekly totals more representative

Running tempo 43:00 [3]
shoes: nike air pegasus

Run up Mount Royal. Wasn't quite feeling right for the first half of the run, so didn't push it too hard.

Hiking 3:00:00 [0]

Joined the student protest march out of curiosity and boredom. Actually covered quite a bit of ground, we were walking for 3 hours straight.

Running 24:00 [2]
shoes: New Balance 790

Went for a run, but got caught in a huge hailstorm so ran home before getting hypothermia

Thursday Apr 19, 2012 #

Running intervals 24:21 [5] 6.4 km (3:48 / km)
shoes: New Balance 790

4*1600m intervals at the track. Not bad, not quite in the sub-6 min range I would like to be in though. 13s faster than Jan. 30th.

Splits:
1-5:55
2-6:03
3-6:13
4-6:11
Avg-6:05

Missed my Tuesday workout so I am going to do a double-header today, should be good practice for a sprint-middle combo.

Running 24:00 [2]
shoes: New Balance 790

10 minute warmup, 7 minute cooldown, 7 minutes between intervals

Ultimate frisbee 45:00 [2]
shoes: La Sportiva Crosslite

Pick-up ultimate frisbee, 5 on 5, no subs. Was hurting a little bit after my workout earlier in the day but still managed some bursts of intensity

Sunday Apr 15, 2012 #

Running long 1:54:00 [2]
shoes: nike air pegasus

Long run, Outremont to Westmount to Mount Royal. Felt terrible between 20 and 40 minutes and alright the rest of the run.

Note

Did all my planned training for the week, really happy about that.

Running hills 1:05:04 [5]
shoes: nike air pegasus

Mt. Royal 9 Peaks Hill Intervals.

Splits-
1-10:09
2-15:25 (5:15)
3-21:01 (5:35)
4-29:10 (8:09)
5-33:54 (4:45)
6-38:39 (4:45)
7-44:35 (5:56)
8-48:00 (3:25)
9-53:58 (5:58)
10-65:04 (11:05)

Pros: Personal best, 2:23 faster than Nov. 5. Speed and power is definitely there
Cons: Took a lot of rest, probably twice as much as any time I have done this workout before. Speed endurance needs work

Running 22:00 [2]
shoes: New Balance 790

10 minute warmup, 7 minute cooldown, 5 minutes between intervals

Running 6:33 [5] 2.0 km (3:17 / km)
shoes: New Balance 790

400m intervals at the track. 10 is the max. number of reps, with an 85s cutoff (ie. need to stay under this to keep going). Only made 5 reps, but didn't feel too bad overall, and my times aren't terrible (even though they are far from good)

Splits
1-69.8
2-78.2
3-79.8
4-79.6
5-85.3
Avg-78.6

Running 1:12:00 [2]
shoes: nike air pegasus

Varied between feeling mediocre and weak throughout the run, but managed to persevere

Saturday Apr 7, 2012 #

Running 52:00 [3]
shoes: nike air pegasus

I thought for sure in the first 20 minutes of this run where it was a long gradual uphill that I was going to set some sort of personal worst for TPK. But then on the next 30 minutes of long gradual downhill I was able to find a little bit of pace.

Thursday Apr 5, 2012 #

Running 48:00 [2]
shoes: nike air pegasus

Really relaxed paced run at Mt. Royal Park. Took it really easy as I am trying to ease back into running form.

Note

Fell off the bandwagon again. Oh well. Have a plan to hit some form by the mid to late May races, we will see how well I balance that with hitting crunch time in my Masters thesis
