spiked:13/19c shoes: Inov8 MudClaw

training at Kahli's rocks map. Jogged most of the course but was decently technically except for a couple of controls. Lost about 6.5 minutes total

Orienteering 13:15 [5] ***
spiked:11/17c shoes: Inov8 MudRoc

Sprint at Charles Sturt University. Got stuck trying to cross one fence and lost about 30s. Scott was 1st in 1225, the Canadian mens team swept the Americans (Andy, Mike, John)

Orienteering 30:24 [5] ***
spiked:12/13c shoes: Inov8 MudClaw

Peg race at Cherrabah. Really fast, with a longer leg each time you got to a control in the front pack, the goal was to get all 8 clothespins. I only got 5 but it was pretty intense.

Orienteering 45:15 [3] *** 3.7 km (12:14 / km)
spiked:6/13c

Cascades rerun of Saturday courses. 11 minutes faster and only made small mistakes, about 7.5 minutes worth.

Orienteering 38:00 [2]
shoes: Inov8 MudClaw

contours only exercize at Sandy Creek. Had major problems and eventually found a road going back to the start and walked back after not finding control 7.

Orienteering 40:30 [5] *** 5.95 km (6:48 / km)
spiked:18/21c shoes: Inov8 MudRoc

Skins orienteering at Sandy Creek, same as O-tervals. Do 3 controls in groups of 4, race to try to be first. Won 1 skin, really fun. Less than 2 minutes error.

Orienteering 47:25 [3] *** 4.76 km (9:58 / km)
spiked:15/22c shoes: Inov8 MudClaw

Orienteering training on Sandy Creek map. A lot more open and fast than the Cascades map, but with some cacti to watch out for. Pretty good run overall, a few small mistakes totalling about 4 minutes.

Orienteering race 1:57:30 [3] **** 7.5 km (15:40 / km) +260m 13:21 / km
spiked:8/14c shoes: Inov8 MudRoc

Orienteering race on Cascades map. Had a really hard time running through the terrain as the bare rock was really slick after the rain. Saw a kangaroo wipe out hard. Accidentally slipped down a 3m cliff at one of the controls. Made a 12 minute error with Fraser and got hopelessly lost. Also made a few smaller errors about 2230 in total (including the 12 minute one). Really brutally physical in general

Orienteering race 56:30 [3] **** 3.7 km (15:16 / km)
spiked:9/13c shoes: Inov8 MudRoc

Orienteering race at Cascades map in Queensland. It was really hard running with a ton of rock and I made a 5 minute error and a 7 minute error, with an estimated error time of 14:30. Alright result for first time in granite.

Running 20:00 [1]

I had a layover in LA and got lost after deciding to take a shortcut back to the bus stop so I panicked and started running. I eventually did make my flight.

Orienteering 1:34:38 [3] *** 8.2 km (11:32 / km)
spiked:6/10c shoes: Inov8 MudClaw

Orienteering practice course on Dalmuir map. Paths were taken off the map and it was very swampy (over clufts of grass in some parts floating on water 2 feet deep) with lots of mosquitoes. Was quite tricky, but still had fun. Made approximately 1 minute route choice errors on controls 3 and 6 as well as a 15s error on the short leg 8, and a 7.5 min error going down the wrong set of hills and swamps on the final control.

Orienteering 36:51 [5] 5.3 km (6:57 / km)
shoes: Inov8 MudRoc

Park O at Dawson. Got some new shoes today, same brand as my regular o-shoes but lighter and better for trail running and sprint. Skipped control 5 as it was in thick green and I was confronted with a wall of vegetation I didn't feel like going through. Dominated today, as the next closest person was 46 minutes, felt quite fast.

Orienteering race 1:31:54 [3] *** 7.3 km (12:35 / km)
spiked:8/12c shoes: Inov8 MudClaw

Orienteering B Meet at Tiger Lily. Was quite hot out and was not entirely focused for the entire time. Not a very good race at all. Lost 40s on 2, 5 min on 3, 3 min on 9 and a horrible 17min on 6. Started the leg off by going slightly in the wrong direction and then ended up in the wrong valley and over 500m off course with not a clue what I had done wrong (really should have trusted my compass when it said I was going off course). As a positive, managed to have surgical precision on controls 7, 8 and 11, hitting them almost bang on.
