Old Blues XC Race. Started steady as it was cold and I didn't want to get carried away and trigger an asthma attack like last year, but warmed up into it well. Then my icebugs started rubbing and caused a massive blister under my toenail which was very sore for the second half of the course, particularly running downhill as it was just catching on the end of my shoe. Also still stiff from weights and plyos this week! So not the quickest race but it was a nice steady run if nothing else...

Started off 2x10 min session after 2 min warm up, but chest really tight so just ended up stopping after 6 min and going to do drills.

3x100, 50 walk recovery in between, 5 mins between sets.
3x200, 100 walk recov.
3x100 , 50 walk recov.

Good session but felt like I was perhaps running within myself a bit too much until the last 3 100s, which were a bit speedier.

Few plyos at the end whilst I was warm but didn't want to do anything too much.

Really not with it tonight, point control terrible and not getting the hits, very ragged. Didn't win a bout either.

Decent foil lesson with Simon at the end though which made it worth going at least...
