Orienteering race 57:53 [4] *** 9.31 km (6:13 / km) +75m 5:59 / km
23c shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212

Although there were some technical legs, it was mostly quite straightforward running, as in a lot of the legs were literally a straight line between each control. A couple of choices regarding traveling around a lake or thicket in the golf course, but overall it felt overwhelmingly like a really long sprint. The thing is, I'm not the great of a runner and it overwhelming favored the runner over the orienteerer here. Would've ranked it as low technical intensity except a few controls required some more advanced orienteering techniques.

GPS sputtered out between 19 and 21, but trust me I ran those! Just didn't record:

Orienteering race 48:10 [4] *** 5.18 km (9:18 / km) +151m 8:07 / km

I had a great drive down and was very well hydrated for the run. Only problem is I didn't anticipate how slow my start was going to be! Check the splits for more detailed comments, but I was really disappointed to see how I finished for the starting race of the weekend. Just 4 minutes quicker and I would've been 6 places higher! That's a lesson I'm going to take to heart.

I pushed myself as far as I could keeping in mind that I have two more races to go after this. That's why I didn't kick it so hard at the end.
