10 AM

Running 10:24 [3] 2.13 km (4:53 / km)
ahr:139 max:150

Running 11:35 [3] 2.98 km (3:53 / km) +1m 3:53 / km
ahr:145 max:155

It seemed in June it was popular on in sides of the pond for people to run a 3000m time trial. So I indulged today. Pretty Steady with loads in the tank at the finish (would have been nice to race someone). Not done this since I was 16, when I was a full lap faster and on a grass track. I want to have another go at this before I leave.

Running 11:05 [3] 2.42 km (4:35 / km) +14m 4:27 / km

Note
(rest day)

Not planned. Woke up late and preceded to walk 6 hours around Soho. My youngest managed to suck all the life out of me with her questions so just went for an early family meal. It’s warm in the sun. Not Shitsville TX hot. But it has its moments.

4 PM

Running 38:36 [3] 8.29 km (4:39 / km) +15m 4:37 / km
ahr:141 max:167

Easy down East River. Humid, but that wasn’t a major issue. Stomach came to a crescendo at the end and social distancing is a huge issue here. Long periods of wearing a snood was tedious. Manhattan itself is quieter than usual. The water areas were batshit crazy. The track....holycow. Must have been close to 800 people on the tartan and field.
HR down, minute quicker than a similar run in Telluride.

Running 34:53 [3] 6.76 km (5:10 / km) +132m 4:42 / km

Easy cruise around Lawson Hill while Eadie did Gym. Knee back to bothering, but otherwise feeling good.

Running 47:14 [3] 9.7 km (4:52 / km) +94m 4:39 / km
ahr:154 max:169

5x1k intervals plus 10 mins @ Threshold. Ate too much breakie. But by the end I felt decent. Three of these @4min. Haven't done that for about three years. Done in Illium Valley.
4 PM

Running 35:18 [3] 6.61 km (5:21 / km) +68m 5:05 / km
ahr:145 max:168

Very Easy down/around Vance Junction while the bairns played Bloggy w/ Harris at the Coal Sheds. Pretty happy the way life's going at the moment. Legs have been turning over nicely. (Still wish I'd got a long run in this last weekend).
Girls have started to have playdates/sleepovers for the first time since mid March and they're much happier too.

Note
(rest day)

Not needed. Just not motivated at the moment. No long run yesterday either. The wheels have come off!

Saturday Jul 25, 2020 #

Note

While Garmin's laces have come undone causing them to trip in dogshit, I've gone to grab a Latte.
5 PM

Running 57:38 [3] 10.17 km (5:40 / km) +182m 5:12 / km
ahr:159 max:185

Very, very Easy in the choss. Wet and horrible again. Lovely. I got very pissed off on this run. Had to litter pick most of the way. I found out there was a mountain bike race going on (200 starters) and I'd ended up being at the very back of it. I was basically sweeping the race course for them. I wasn't too happy about the trail damage either. We've had a stack of rain the last few days.

(rest day)

This was planned.
Last few days have been bizarre. Went to get Kendal's laptop from school and bumped into the superintendent. Thought "wouldn't this be a great opportunity to file a formal complaint about being relieved of my coaching duties?" So I did. I was completely fobbed off, but I left much happier than when I entered the school building. Within 12 hours I received a totally unrelated email asking me to coach the town's club U19 girls' team. (This is basically the same team, but now I'm Head Coach!)
When life throws you bucket of thumbs.....I can't smile wide enough. I'm looking forward to bumping into the Varsity staff in the near future.

Did absolutely zero today. Except fix the Roomba.....which again leads to more sedentary habits.

Running 45:22 [3] 8.37 km (5:25 / km) +46m 5:17 / km

Easy from Lime with the girls. Kendal hit 5k today. If you'd told me before the lockdown she'd do that I'd have put the house against it happening.
Some DOMS working today.
