Orienteering race 1:13:54 [5] *** 6.6 km (11:12 / km) +155m 10:01 / km
spiked:12/14c shoes: Integrator

Webster park in the spring - red.

Enjoyed the course, and the park was no more wet than I'd expected it to be. I cut through one green section that probably should have been avoided - full of pricky bushes. (splits show I was nearly 4 minutes instead of 2-3...)

Time wasn't what I expected - I was 5th overall and about 5th on many legs. Just didn't seem to have the endurance. One second place split and two thirds in the first 5 legs, but then a lot of 6th.

7th on 12-13 and that was just running down the trail...

Well - time to buck up the running and get in shape.

Best recovery 10-11 - I was off left, but stopped at the right spot, and recovered to the control - limited the time loss to about 50 seconds instead of wandering around.

Also - wore the headgear / reading glasses contraption - and that seemed to be a useful thing. Guess it's in until I find something better.

Posted to routegadget - will be interesting to see other routes if they get up there. [first time I've been able to in a while - success - also w GPS]

Walking 30:00 [1]

With pooch, and she was reasonably well behaved. Spooked at certain places and would not go further, so we modified the direction of travel.

After 5:22 I had a 8:15 mile, but then apparently struggled. Not sure what is holding me back here...
