Orienteering race 1:17:46 [5] *** 6.5 mi (11:58 / mi) +230m 10:47 / mi
spiked:17/21c shoes: Integrator

Red course at the Icebreaker / Durand Eastman (West).

Bobbled 9 with a path that took me past other similar trees and cause me to question where it should be. Bobbled 12 with the its-not-on-the-side-of-the-hill-but-on-the-top placement.

I'm not sure it was that far off, but my skills at addressing that situation stink.

Enjoyed being in a part of the park we hardly ever use, and happy to be out in the woods on a terrific day.

Orienteering 58:13 [3] 3.2 mi (18:12 / mi)
shoes: Integrator

Control pickup. Able to review the control locations on the furthest East side.

9 definitely a poor approach on my part. (but nice to see why)

12 I think the control may have been on the highest rootstock instead of the middle. There wasn't much of any climb between the actual location and the trail, and the map shows a complete 5m contour there. ((and I should learn to work with what's actually in the field and not walk around as my GPS indicates)) (((Though I saw other rootstocks and though the actual location could have been down the spur)))
