Nice outing over at Highland Park. Legs held up well, though I can't say that I ran exceedingly fast.

Like Mike, I thought I took the easy to see path to 1, but in looking today, I think that was the path on the map that was closest to line... I later took the right hand path with Melissa on White and am certain I didn't take that initially, so I must have been on the proper one to begin with. I stayed right and avoided some climb anyway, and that's a good thing for me for this day.

Stayed left on the way to 2 and crossed the shallow with the saddle before the road. On the road to 4 it looked like the first hill had two lumps, and I bit on the second half of that hill before crossing right to where 4 was.

Looks like I was helped by being left on my line to 7, I lined up the building and road to the South and realized it should be uphill from me, and there it was...

Another bobble on the way to 8 in that I found myself left of the fence point, and then unwisely decided that most fences allow one to run along the fence - not this one...

Shadow Melissa on the white course - she did quite well, though she has an interesting habit of looking away from where the control is when she's trying to find it, but I admit to now knowing fully what's going on in her mind.

It's quite interesting to see her decide something and then take off on it, and then when she is unsure she'll pause, put things together, and then come to a decision. She worked through each issue.

One place where she had a problem was the home inside the park that is greyed out and not mapped. She thought she was heading up the driveway to the castle when she was slightly to the left.

Morning Run warm up/down 40:30 [2] 2.5 km (16:12 / km) +50m 14:44 / km
shoes: New Balance 479 - V2

Yellow course with Melissa as a warmdown. Not so much running, and we talked through the controls and how we might work get to the next.

1 confused the heck out of her since it went right through the last control of her white...

Exercises (yardwork) 2:00:00 [3]

Seemed like 20 hours worth, just recording 2 here.

Adding them up, there's 20 trees around the yard plus 11 new pine trees I've added to replace 5 old pine trees plus a row of 10 Rose of Sharon that will need trimming sometime soon...
