Morning Run warm up/down 4:00 [2]
shoes: New Balance 479

Just a bit before the race. Couple minutes after the brown course as well.

Orienteering race 1:24:46 [4] *** 6.3 km (13:27 / km) +220m 11:27 / km
spiked:6/12c shoes: New Balance 479

Enjoyed the Red course at Pinewood. First big-bobble from 8 to 9 as I didn't read that well enough. On my way to 10 I stepped waist deep into a peat-water-hole and that rattled me a little bit. It continued as I mistook a green block as a black box on the way to 11 and gave myself some extra ground to cover.

Orienteering race 53:12 [4] *** 3.9 km (13:38 / km) +140m 11:34 / km
spiked:7/10c shoes: New Balance 479

As I was car-pooling it, I had enough time to do the brown course as well. Slower pace, but I worked on running well through the woods on the first half. Big bobble 7-8 as I ended up misreading the terrain and relocated myself where I wasn't... Ended up at 9 and had the presence to recall that I wasn't looking for a hill but a depression...

Not sure about the advice that the courses were different - 9 of 10 controls on the brown were on the green though the ordering was mostly different.

Good combined effort for the day.

Walking 1:00:00 [1] 2.0 mi (30:00 / mi)

It was more like 2 hours of walking - you know - across yards, down the road, with bits of stoppage while doorbells were rung... -)

Exercises 30:00 [3]

The boy scout troop puts on a haunted ride through Locust Hill CC each year and I drove, tagged along, and played the part of a creepy guy in the shadows... Over the three hours I probably walked a mile or two and had time to exercise muscles with odd gaits, balance positions and lunges. It definitely counts as a "workout" of some degree as my legs are sore this day after...-)
