shoes: Inov-8 MudClaw 'O' 330

Warmed up before the race

Orienteering race 1:50:09 [4] ***** 11.4 km (9:40 / km) +260m 8:40 / km
18c (injured) shoes: Inov-8 MudClaw 'O' 330

Surebridge Challenge, Day 2. Blue course 8.1k, 290m

Felt much better physically and was running faster. Made about five minutes mistake on #2 leaving the first control in the wrong direction. I didn't check the compass and just rushed downhill as fast as I can.
Also, I am ashamed to confess I decided to follow a train to the next to last control. The head of the train was a young Canadian girl. She was running so beautifully that I couldn't help following her :) I was checking the map periodically and figured that she had a different control. But I just kept following the train :) Stupid.

Event: HVO A-Meet

Trail Running warm up/down 10:00 [2] 1.5 km (6:40 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 MudClaw 'O' 330

Warmed up before the race

Orienteering race 2:02:03 [4] ***** 11.2 km (10:54 / km) +420m 9:11 / km
17c (injured) shoes: Inov-8 MudClaw 'O' 330

Surebridge Challenge Day 1. Blue course 8.5k, 300m.

I started very slowly trying to decipher the map. The terrain is extremely complex and physically tough because of steep hills and rocky ground. So, you have to be cautious while running. A lot of people including me twisted their ankles. It didn't swell too much but made my running uncomfortable on the second day.
So I was moving very slowly the whole race due to tiredness after the red eye flight and also the orienteering was so intense that I had to stop many times to read the map. It's very hard to relocate in that kind of terrain. I didn't do major mistakes though.
